ALVAR 14 is a chromium-nickel-molybdenum-vanadium alloyed hot work tool steel characterized by:
• Excellent toughness
• Excellent resistance to high thermal stresses
• Excellent stability in hardening
• Excellent through-hardening properties
ALVAR 14 is recommended for support tooling in extrusion (e.g. bolsters and wedge blocks). This material is available mill direct.
